The Fitting Process

What to expect from a fitting appointment

Every appointment moves through the same disciplined stages — nothing skipped, nothing assumed.

1

Static Evaluation

A thorough examination of your horse's mouth to assess their individual oral anatomy.

2

Dynamic Evaluation

Your horse is ridden or lunged in their current setup, watched closely for contact quality and any signs of discomfort. This step also includes a bridle fitting assessment.

3

Ride in Demo Bits

Typically two to three bits are trialled from an extensive fitting inventory, ridden in real work, not just held up to the mouth.

4

Orders & Follow-Up Support

There is no obligation to order a bit through Tara. You can place your order on the day and pay for it on the day — it will be shipped to you brand new. Alternatively, you can contact her when you are ready to place your order for your new bit. Notes are taken during your fitting; if you would like to view these, please contact Tara after your fitting.

It is usually most simple to use the mobile card reader, however, checks can also be accepted.
